The variety of setups and ships fielded is a testament to the hard work CCP has put into creating a dynamic and balanced game.
Excellent work Nova, and all of the CCP and EveTV staff who made this tournament possible. I have watched every minute of the coverage live on the stream and it is far more enjoyable than anything on television.

I know your obviously set on this, and of course will disregard any opinions wishing for the opposite, but I really feel that what makes the tournament so special is BECAUSE it isn't like real PvP.
Are you joking? You think activating damps and shooting missles takes skill?
Real small gang PvP requires piloting ability. This tourney doesn't. 98% of the tournament matches are won or lost before the match starts.

I fail to see how the inclusion of EW lead to a reduction in the skill required to participate in the tournament. The fielding of EW represents a strategic advantage to whomever wields it. If you can ensure that your forces are able to strike at the enemy freely while denying your enemy the same, you have all but won the battle.
Success in battle requires equal measures of skill and strategy. Strategy without skill leads to collapse. Skill without strategy leads to defeat.

I would like to point you the fact that the 10x damp Caracal setup has not proven to be a "win button". If my memory serves, the Caracal heavy setups have actually lost more times then they have won at this point. It is all about balance.
The best performing teams so far have used combinations of ECM, dampening, tanking and firepower. Having equal measures of each is proving far more effective than any setup relying on just one.
For those claiming that such use of EW modules and tactics is not representative of Eve PvP, I would suggest that it is not the tournament that is in err, but perhaps it is the commonly held conceptions of what Eve PvP is that are out of date. EW is proving itself to be an incredibly powerful tool.
